Homemade Pizza from Scratch
Picture walk through coming soon!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup warm water
2 1/4 tsp. instant yeast
1 tsp. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups all purpose flour plus more for kneading
No stick cooking spray
Equipment:
A large pizza pan
Rolling pin
Large bowl
A clean Kitchen towel
and something sturdy to stir with (I usually use a chop stick)
Directions:
Spray your pizza pan with no stick spray and set to the side for later
In a large bowl add your warm water, salt, sugar, and instant yeast. give it a quick stir and let sit for about 5 mins
Add in your 2 cups all purpose flour and stir together until you get a loose dough
Using your hands knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 mins
Use your rolling pin to roll the pizza out to roughly the size of your pan
Transfer the dough to the pan and finish shaping your dough to fill the entire pan
Cover the pizza with a kitchen towel and allow to rise for about an hour (you could ahead and top bake it now but it’s better if given a chance to rise)
Start your oven preheating to 500 degrees
Uncover your crust and top with your desired sauce (I have a wonderful homemade marinara on my sauces page), cheese, and toppings
Bake for 10-12 mins depending on the number of toppings you put on your pizza
